When squid are being shy or won’t commit to a standard jig, switching to a bait-rigged squid spike is often the move that gets results. The Swimerz Double Crown Squid Spikes let you rig a whole pilchard or yellowtail on the metal shaft and fish it naturally — giving wary squid a presentation that’s hard to refuse.
The double crown spike design features extremely sharp prongs that hold squid securely on the strike, while the pointed shaft makes threading a baitfish quick and easy at the water’s edge. Whether you’re after squid for the plate or need fresh calamari for bait, these spikes are a practical addition to your squid fishing kit.
How to Use
Insert the metal shaft through a whole baitfish (pilchard or yellowtail work well) so the sharp prongs exit the mouth of the fish. Cast out, let it sink, then retrieve slowly or drift the rig under a float. The natural bait presentation draws in squid that may have been ignoring conventional jigs.
